Thika Power is a thermal power company that is privately held to support Kenya’s electricity sector. Our power plant in Thika is the first in Africa to use MAN’s Diesel combined cycle product package and five MAN 18V48/60 four-stroke engines are at its heart, producing 87 MW of electricity. The waste heat from the engines is used to power an MAN MARC2 steam turbine, which generates a further 6.8 MW of electricity.
